Diesel fuel sample analysis

Unmonitored long-term storage of diesel fuel for emergency generator, fire pump and boiler systems inevitably results in unique contamination and degradation of the fuel system. Annual sample analysis, along with periodic checks of the system for water contamination, is an invaluable tool in identifying contaminants and rate of degradation.

The PAI program consists of annual laboratory sample analysis of the fuel inventory for physical characteristics, contaminants and storage stability. Sampling apparatus and instruction are provided, with the facility submitting the sample to PAI for analysis, reporting and recommendations.

Recommendations are specific to the sample results, ex. water removal, microbial growth eradication, chemical stabilizers/inhibitors, dilution with fresh fuel, etc.

Engine oil sample analysis

Emergency generator and fire pump engine oil systems are also subject to contamination and degradation. PAI laboratory sample analysis is designed to provide early detection of problems such as coolant leaks, dirt infiltration, fuel dilution and abnormal wear.

Engine coolant sample analysis

Similarly, emergency generator coolant sample analysis is designed to provide early detection of problems such as system corrosive wear, acidity, degradation or improper water/coolant mixture.

Ultimately, these programs are designed to be an excellent diagnostic tool to help ensure that the emergency systems will operate properly when needed.

Chiller oil sample analysis

Chiller oil systems are subject to the same contamination and degradation described above, also easily detected through proper PAI sampling and laboratory analysis. Early detection of corrosive wear, high acidity, water contamination, elevated temperatures, etc. is vital to preventive maintenance of the chiller system.
